Established downtown law firm is seeking an experienced part-time legal accounting/billing clerk. Experience supporting a busy civil litigation and estate planning practice a plus. Responsibilities and skills include basic accounting and bookkeeping; accounts receivable / accounts payable; reconciliation, back-up, and audit; conflicts checks; new matter setup; client billing; preparation and maintenance of reports and analytics; maintain collection reports and conduct collection efforts; communicating with firm personnel, clients, vendors and other third parties; competency in software applications, including word processing, document management, spreadsheet and database management, timekeeping, and forms programs.
Qualifications
- Experience in accounting, billing and collection; previous law firm accounting highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with accounting focus preferred
- Good project management, time management, and solid organizational skills, with attention to detail and good judgment
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple competing priorities and responsibilities, highly organized
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- High degree of professionalism
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
- Coyote Analytics/SurePoint accounting and billing experience a plus, however, will provide training
California pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skillset and experience, is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. Paid parking or transit stipend is provided.
